Treblinka Extermination Camp

Treblinka is an extermination camp located 100 kilometres north-east of Warsaw. Between 23 July 1942 and 19 October 1943 the Nazis killed 700,000 to 900,000 Jews in gas chambers there. The number of victims in Treblinka was only a little smaller than of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The camp was located in a forest. The history of the place is terrifying and sad but the place itself is beautiful. The most famous camp is Auschwitz but it is also worth going to Treblinka as the site is much quieter and more calm. You really have time to stop and think about all the victims and the history of holocaust and you are not disturbed by anyone.
